I saw in reviews before I purchased it, that many people said it shines in their eyes. Not true if you know how to properly zoom the light in and out, and move the neck of the light. Those two features are what I love about this lamp. I can literally be in a dark room with only this light and see my needle for embroidering. Also, my husband has used it for wiring a car radio (in the house). I also film videos for a class I teach and I use it for lighting. It&#8217;s heavy enough to stand in place but not too heavy to move to another room if I need it there. It was worth every penny I paid. I highly recommend for crafters, readers, or whatever.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/em>&#8211; Lori<\/p>\n<h4>Great product<\/h4>\n<p><em>&#8220;I bought this to use with a Stressless recliner chair. I wanted some direct strong lighting while reading, given my senior aging of my eyes. It turned out to be perfect. Easy to assemble; great lighting; adjustable beam is great; stability is very good and it looks like an expensive floor lamp. It works so well when reading something and being able to narrow and expand the beam is terrific. Sometimes I turn it on just to warm up myself sitting in the chair. I am thinking about buying a second one for my vacation home.&#8221;<\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Alan<\/p>\n<h4>Love the adjustable light!<\/h4>\n<p><em>&#8220;I wanted a bedside reading lamp that did not light up the entire room and that is exactly what this does. Focusable down to the small circle, as advertised, and not so bright it hurts your eyes. The neck is very flexible and stays right where you aim it. I does take both hands to precision set the focusing ring, though, as it moves easily. My only complaint would be that I ordered a black lamp and received the brushed nickel one.
